Fertility Monitors

A fertility monitor can really be helpful when trying to conceive or when trying to avoid conception.  All too often, women go through life never thinking about their biological clocks ticking away.  In our innocence, we assume that when we are financially secure, have the right partner by our side, then nature simply will oblige us.  Unfortunately, this is not always the case.

While some women can get pregnant at a drop of the hat, others struggle to conceive.  This is where a good fertility monitor can really help.  Predicting ovulation is key to conception.  Ovulation is the release of a single, mature egg from the ovarian follicle.  When the egg is fertilized, it results in pregnancy.  A fertility monitor can help you determine exactly when it is that you are ovulating.

Many women do not realize that Natural Family Planning is planning whether to have or not to have a child at this time.  Most think it is only for avoiding conception but the same science applies to both.  The difference with Natural Family Planning to avoid conception is that the signs are used as a time that one would abstain rather than to “baby dance”.  Then when a woman IS ready to conceive, she follows the ferning signs for conception.  This is part of the beauty of the Fertility Tracker since it has a high magnification and can detect fertile times earlier in the cycle.

How Does a Fertility Monitor Work?

The best time for any woman to get pregnant is as close to ovulation as possible of course.  The best way to determine when you are ovulating, or better put, about to ovulate,  is with a fertility monitor.  Today, there are various types of fertility monitors on the market designed to predict ovulation.  Once you know when you are ovulating, you can then time sexual intercourse in accordance with it so that your chances of getting pregnant are optimal.

There are basically two types of fertility monitors, one that uses urine and one that uses saliva.  Urine fertility monitors test for the luteinizing hormone (LH) in the urine.  When there is an increase in LH, this means an egg has been released from the ovary.  Saliva fertility monitors use your saliva each day to determine when you are most fertile.  These monitors test the levels of estrogen and can detect the rise in your pre-ovulation cycle.   Saliva fertility monitors are just as effective as urine monitors, but they offer an advantage – you can test anywhere, anytime and they are not as messy.  Today, one of the most effective saliva fertility monitors on the market is the Fertility Tracker.

The Fertility Tracker is non invasive which means that it does violate you in any way.  It is not necessary to pee on a stick or in a cup each day but merely wake up, place spit on the slide and wait a few minutes for your results.  Match the ferning patterns to the booklet and there you have it.  Simple, neat and actually fun, as most write us to say.
